About This Course

This course provides a comprehensive exploration of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through the lens of diagnostic criteria, historical developments, and practical assessment tools. Learners will gain an in-depth understanding of the evolution of autism diagnoses, the nuances between different conditions on the spectrum, and how to identify and screen for ASD in clinical and therapeutic settings. By examining DSM criteria, differential diagnoses, and various assessment strategies, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to better understand, diagnose, and support individuals with ASD.

  1. What a Diagnostic ASD Evaluation May Look Like 

Course admission requirements:

Minimum of a Master's Degree in a mental health or related field; or be a student in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field. In Low- and Middle-Income Countries, a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field is required.
