Moving from Allyship into Action

designed to challenge your biases, deepen your understanding of intersectional identities, and equip you with the tools to become a lifelong advocate for equity and justice.

About This Course

This training focuses on assessing personal biases, exploring intersectional identities, and fostering long-term engagement in allyship. Through a combination of introspective exercises and practical strategies, you’ll learn how to stretch your comfort zone, develop confidence in supporting diverse communities, and take meaningful steps towards racial justice and systems change. Whether you’re new to this work or looking to expand your knowledge, this workshop invites you to engage, reflect, and commit to actionable change.

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. Assess biases and privileges: Reflect on personal biases and privileges to understand how they shape your interactions with others and influence your ability to advocate effectively.

  2. Understand intersectional identities: Explore how various aspects of identity, such as race, gender, and sexuality, intersect and impact individuals' experiences. Learn how to offer meaningful support to those with different identities.

  3. Commit to long-term allyship: Recognize allyship as an ongoing commitment. Develop strategies to engage consistently in advocacy efforts rather than treating allyship as a temporary or symbolic action.

Course admission requirements:

Minimum of a Master's Degree in a mental health or related field; or be a student in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field. In Low- and Middle-Income Countries, a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field is required.
