About This Course
For all helping professionals, ethics are a cornerstone of guidance for best practices. This seminar is designed to support social work and counseling professionals in navigating the complex landscape of ethical dilemmas.
While unique ethical standards exist for different disciplines, there are core ethical principles shared by all helping professions. During this seminar, participants will have the opportunity to revisit key ethical values, standards, and principles specific to social work and counseling. Gain perspective on how to approach ethical dilemmas by reviewing decision-making frameworks and analyzing case vignettes.
Key Learning Objectives:
- Identify General Ethical Values and Principles: Understand and articulate the foundational ethical values and principles relevant to all helping professionals.
- Reflect on Common Ethical Dilemmas: Examine real-world ethical dilemmas that frequently arise in the field and learn to apply appropriate ethical decision-making frameworks.
- Enhance Ethical Decision-Making Skills: Develop a keener ethical eye and boost your confidence in resolving ethical dilemmas effectively and compassionately.
Course admission requirements:
Minimum of a Master's Degree in a mental health or related field; or be a student in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field. In Low- and Middle-Income Countries, a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field is required.
